Looking for new places to ride? Here are a few of our favorite places to ride in and around Birmingham. There are options for every level of rider, from easy-going paths to challenging mountain trails.

Oak Mountain State Park

29 miles of the trail made up of mostly singletrack with some gravel and paved portions.

Red Mountain Park

A 15-mile trail system that traverses exciting and diverse terrain. Includes scenic views.

Tannehill State Park

Over 16 miles of short trails that run follow historic paths and roads.

Coldwater Mountain

30 to 40 miles of purpose-built singletrack. Difficulty ranging from beginner to advanced.

Trussville Sports Complex

4.75 miles of single-track and double-track trails, with a short section adjacent to the Cahaba River.

Turkey Creek

About 3.5 miles of easy to moderate difficulty multi-use trail in the Turkey Creek Nature Preserve.

Trail Of Legends

12 miles of trails for hiking and biking near the historic Swayback Bridge.

Lake Lurleen

More than 23 miles of multi-use trails ranging from easy to moderate in difficulty.

Duck River

A 3.5-mile multi-use trail along the Northeast side of the reservoir.

Munny Sokol

About 5.7 miles of beginner to intermediate level single track trails.

Gardendale Urban Trail System

A 3-mile trail that is easy to extend the mileage by the addition of Wild West and Peak Attack.

Lake Howard

14.9 miles of beginner to intermediate level single track trails.

Noccalula Falls Park

The Black Creek Trails consist of 15 trails and connectors for those who enjoy walking, running, hiking and bicycling. The Black Creek Trail (1.7miles)  is a gravel path which can be entered beside the wedding chapel located at Noccalula Falls Campground; it is a peaceful, scenic walk  where you can enjoy the beauty of your surroundings.

Cahaba River Park

17 miles of professionally designed and constructed trails along the Cahaba River and Shades Creek.

Black Creek Mountain

New trail Fall 2019. Spanning 73 acres of up and down woodland terrain and offering 5 miles of trails.

RideBHM

RideBHM is Alabama’s first downhill mountain biking park, where a day pass or membership gets you access to some of the sickest downhill trails in Alabama.

McClellan Mountain Bike Trail

15 Miles of purpose built singletrack and is perfect for beginner riders of all ages. It is the first specifically designed NICA trail in the state of Alabama. The system has a great variety of green and blue trail segments. Trail names capture the history of the military base, community figures and local heros. Equally fun in either direction, the trails twist, turn and roll around Sunset Hill and along the base of the Baltzell Mountains.
