Do I have to be home to get my bike(s) serviced?
Usually, yes—there may be some exceptions. Please note in your appointment entry if you cannot be home.
How much does Mobile Service cost?
Our labor costs for mobile service are approximately 25% more than our in-store costs to account for gas, time, van, etc. Most of our customers feel that the convenience benefit outweighs the extra cost and saves them a lot of time, effort, and headache.
In order to dispatch our mobile repair unit, we require that the work to be performed totals at least $90 in parts and labor.
How long will service take to perform?
It depends on what sort of service we are doing to the bike, but usually 1–1.5 hours per bike.
Can it be a zero-contact experience?
Absolutely. Our technician will also be masked up if within 6 feet, but work/interaction will be done outside in open air. Unless there is inclement weather; then the work will be done inside the van.
What kinds of services can be performed by the mobile repair unit?
Most general maintenance can be done from the van (tune-ups, bike washes, parts installations, etc.). There are some procedures that will require us to bring the bike(s) back to the bike shop (due to specialty parts needed or specialty tools that we do not have on the van). We try to obtain as much information from you before our visit so we can grab special items needed.
When can I schedule my service?
We block out certain days of the week to handle mobile service. Our scheduling system will give you dates/times that are available.
How is payment taken?
We use the SquareUp app. All credit cards are accepted.
Does my bike have to be relatively clean to be serviced?
Yes—but if you don’t have time, we will do a bike wash ($25) before we start work. We may need to access a hose to do a proper wash.
How many bikes can be serviced in one trip?
Our limit would probably be around 6 bikes, but it all depends on what each bike needs and how long it will take to service each one.
Where will the van park and how much space does it need?
Typically we need about 20 linear feet to park the van and access what we need out of it. Usually curb parking in front of a residence is sufficient. Also, a driveway that doesn’t block household parking works well, too.
