I haven't been on a bike in a long time. So i decided to buy one for commuting and trail riding. I did a ton of research on Mountain Bikes and chose this Trek. Best choice ever! It handles very well on road and off. I took it to the South Shore Trails at the Lake Pueblo. I had fun riding this! The only thing bad i have to say about this bike is the pedals...they are plastic. Aluminum would have been nice, but thats something i would like to choose from and upgrade. Overall, Trek makes a great Mountain Bike!

    Comments:

I ride this bike on my commute to school everyday, and never have any serious problems with the bike, but during my weekend sessions out on the trails the bike preforms great in slow controlled environments, and poorly in the more technical trails. Its a good beginner level bike, but if your looking for a great everyday trail bike this isn't the one for you.

    Cons

    • Overpriced
    • Low Quality Suspension

The description says that the fork has 80mm of travel. That is incorrect. It's actually only 63mm (check the Trek website directly). Decent bike but seems a bit pricey for what you get.

Bought this for my son as a Christmas present. Took him about a year to figure out what he wanted but it was love at first sight with this Trek 3500. Styling is really nice and he will grow into it at the right time. Shifting is a little tricky and his chain fell off yesterday. ALso the kick stand got loose and rubbed the rear tire. Not big issues. Overall, I give the bike 5 stars. Time will tell if that changes (refer to other posts).
